At IFA 2026, Anker unveiled a new smart home hub called the MindBase. The device goes well beyond a typical smart home controller, offering expandable NAS-style storage and on-device AI capable of processing security camera footage locally. Alongside the launch, Anker confirmed a major branding shift: its Eufy and Soundcore sub-brands will eventually disappear, with everything folding under the single Anker name.
Smart Home Control Built on Matter 1.5
The MindBase operates as a Matter 1.5 controller, meaning it can independently manage Matter-compatible smart home devices such as smart bulbs, garage door openers, robot vacuums, and sensors, all controllable through the Anker app. It also integrates with major platforms including Apple Home, Google Home, Amazon Alexa, and Home Assistant, giving users flexibility in how they manage their connected devices.
A Major Upgrade Over Eufy’s HomeBase
Beyond home automation, the MindBase functions as a significantly upgraded version of Anker’s long-running Eufy HomeBase security hubs. It can support as many as 16 wireless security cameras, plus four additional cameras connected via Power over Ethernet if paired with an external PoE network switch. Anker also noted that existing HomeBase S380 owners will be able to transfer their stored footage directly to the new MindBase.
On-Device AI for Real-Time Security
Anker’s new on-device AI system, called the “TrueSmart Agent,” runs on an in-house large language model powered by a 26 TOPS chip. For comparison, Microsoft’s Copilot PCs offer at least 40 TOPS of AI compute. According to Anker, the agent continuously evaluates camera footage to assess potential risks, then responds through methods such as lighting, verbal alerts, or active deterrence. The company also plans to roll out additional AI agents down the line, including tools for managing home energy use and controlling smart cleaning devices and appliances.
Built-In Storage With No Subscription Required
The MindBase includes 64GB of internal flash storage and supports up to 48TB of additional hard drive capacity. Anker says users will be able to search stored files, photos, and recordings using natural language, with all personal data processed locally rather than sent to the cloud. Notably, the MindBase requires no subscription to access any of its features.
Security Kit and Pricing Details
Anker is also introducing a MindBase Security Kit, which bundles the newly announced Eufy TrackLight Cam S1 and Video Doorbell S4 with entry and motion sensors, along with a Smart Security Shield. Anker claims this sensor can detect strangers from up to 15 meters away, while its DSKey digital credential system allows the MindBase to recognize family members from as far as 30 meters. The exact method behind this recognition system remains unclear, and Anker has not yet disclosed pricing or a release date for the MindBase.
