Samsung already covers nearly every corner of the audio market. The company sells wireless earbuds in multiple styles, a range of speakers including Wi-Fi-enabled models, soundbars, and even the Music Frame, a picture frame that doubles as a speaker. One product has been conspicuously absent from that lineup, though: over-ear wireless headphones. New leaks suggest that gap may not last much longer.
Signs of a New Galaxy H1 Headset
Reporting from SamMobile points to evidence buried in the code of Samsung’s Galaxy Wearable app, hinting at a new pair of wireless headphones in development. The project’s internal codename appears to be Galaxy H1, and accompanying artwork has surfaced alongside the reference. Because the hints were found within app support code, the headphones are expected to connect over Bluetooth rather than a wired connection.
Beyond that, details remain scarce. SamMobile notes that the limited information available suggests a launch is still some way off, possibly landing sometime in 2027.
Samsung’s History With Headphones
Wireless headphones aren’t entirely new territory for Samsung, even though the company hasn’t touched the category in years. Its last real entry was the Level Over, released back in 2015. That model featured active noise cancellation, roughly 15 hours of battery life, and NFC pairing, a feature that has largely disappeared from today’s devices.
Where Samsung Might Position a New Model
Given the long gap since its last release, the bigger question is how Samsung plans to approach the headphone market now. One path would be going head-to-head with Apple’s AirPods Max 2, which carry a steep $550 price tag. Alternatively, Samsung could aim for a more accessible price point, closer to the $300 range occupied by Bose’s QuietComfort Headphones (2nd Gen) or the Nothing Headphone 1.
At this stage, everything remains speculative. Still, renewed interest from Samsung in over-ear wireless headphones is a welcome sign, and if the new pair matches the quality of the Galaxy Buds 4 Pro, it could be a strong addition to the lineup.
